This Zesty Chili Lime Marinade is the perfect way to infuse chicken, shrimp, steak or vegetables with a vibrant and tangy flavor. It’s quick to make and adds a delicious kick to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave nectar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, honey (or agave), minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place your protein or vegetables in a resealable bag or shallow dish.
  4. Pour the marinade over the food, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  5. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.
  6. Cook the marinated food according to your desired method (grilling, baking, pan-frying, etc.).

Notes

For best results, marinate overnight. This marinade is also great for tofu or halloumi cheese.
