Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a saucepan over medium heat until butter melts.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, being careful not to brown it.
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk and cream, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  5. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer until it thickens, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
  7. Allow the sauce to cool slightly before spreading over your pizza dough.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or fresh chopped herbs for extra freshness.
