grilled cheese

A classic grilled cheese sandwich featuring melted cheddar between buttery toasted bread, perfect for a quick and comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, onto the skillet.
  4. Layer the cheddar cheese slices on top of the bread in the skillet.
  5. Place the second slice of bread on top, butter side up.
  6. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Flip the sandwich carefully and cook the other side until golden brown and cheese is fully melted, another 3-4 minutes.
  8. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a slice of tomato or a sprinkle of garlic powder before grilling.
