  • 1 (15-ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine creamed corn, whole kernel corn, milk, cornmeal, melted butter, eggs, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the spoonbread is set and lightly golden brown on top.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving.
