Homemade Spaghetti Squash Dinner

Enjoy a healthy and satisfying Spaghetti Squash Dinner! This naturally low-carb meal is packed with nutrients and is easily customizable with your favorite toppings and sauces.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium spaghetti squash, halved lengthwise and seeds removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup cooked ground beef (optional)
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Drizzle the cut sides of the spaghetti squash with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the squash cut-side down on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the squash is easily pierced with a fork.
  5. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  6. Use a fork to scrape the flesh of the squash into spaghetti-like strands.
  7. Top with marinara sauce, ground beef (if using), mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, skip the ground beef and add sautéed vegetables like mushrooms, peppers, and onions.
