  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup bourbon apple butter
  • 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them into the slow cooker.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together bourbon apple butter, bourbon whiskey, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce evenly over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, until meatballs are cooked through and sauce is thickened.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. These meatballs pair wonderfully with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
