Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a large zip-top bag. Snip off the corner of the bag and pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. While the donuts are cooling, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating. In a shallow bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Dip each donut in the melted butter, then immediately dip it in the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating evenly.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra touch, drizzle the donuts with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
