Pecan Crusted Tilapia

Pecan Crusted Tilapia is a flavorful, crispy seafood dish featuring tender tilapia fillets coated in a crunchy pecan crust, perfect for a quick and healthy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine chopped pecans, panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the flour in a separate shallow dish. Beat the eggs in another shallow bowl.
  4. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Lightly coat each fillet with flour, shaking off any excess.
  5. Dip the floured fillets into the beaten eggs, then press them firmly into the pecan mixture, ensuring an even crust on both sides.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When hot, add the crusted fillets and cook for 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the fillets to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Serve warm with lemon wedges and your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the pecan crust or serve with a dollop of tartar sauce or fresh herb yogurt dip.
