Mozzarella Chicken in Basil Cream Sauce

Delicious Mozzarella Chicken

Tender chicken breasts smothered in a rich and creamy basil sauce, topped with melted mozzarella cheese. This easy recipe is perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 4 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side, until lightly browned.
  5. Remove skillet from heat. Add garlic, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and basil to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  6. Top each chicken breast with mozzarella slices.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and mozzarella is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
