Freshly prepared Italian Chopped Grinder Sandwich

A hearty Italian chopped grinder sandwich loaded with a flavorful mix of cured meats, fresh veggies, and tangy dressing, perfect for a satisfying meal any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 1 Italian hoagie roll or grinder bun
  • 2 oz sliced salami
  • 2 oz sliced ham
  • 2 oz sliced capicola
  • 2 oz sliced mortadella
  • 2 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 2 slices of tomato
  • 2 slices of red onion
  • 3-4 pepperoncini peppers, sliced
  • 1 tbsp Italian dressing
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: mayonnaise or mustard

Instructions

  1. Slice the hoagie roll lengthwise, leaving a hinge to hold the sandwich together.
  2. Layer the provolone cheese evenly on the bottom half of the roll.
  3. Arrange the sliced salami, ham, capicola, and mortadella on top of the cheese.
  4. Top with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, and pepperoncini.
  5. Drizzle Italian dressing evenly over the fillings.
  6. Season with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  7. Optionally, spread mayonnaise or mustard on the top half of the roll before closing.
  8. Close the sandwich, press gently, slice in half, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the sandwich lightly before adding the fresh vegetables, or serve with a side of pickles and kettle chips.
