  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Mix well.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
  4. Stir in the salt and flour until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra Halloween fun, add some candy corn or chopped-up Halloween candy to the batter before baking!
