A Tower of Gingerbread Tiramisu

This Gingerbread Tiramisu is a festive twist on a classic Italian dessert, perfect for the holidays. Layers of gingerbread-soaked ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone filling, and a dusting of cocoa create a delightful and indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 ounces) ladyfingers
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons dark rum (optional)
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee, molasses, and rum (if using).
  2. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, being careful not to soak them completely.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves until smooth and creamy.
  4. In a serving dish or individual glasses, layer the soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture. Start with a layer of ladyfingers, followed by a layer of mascarpone cream. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  6. Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, sprinkle some finely chopped crystallized ginger on top of the cocoa powder.
