This Garlic Parmesan Green Bean Casserole elevates the classic side dish with a creamy, cheesy sauce and a touch of garlic. It’s a delicious and easy way to add a flavorful twist to your holiday table or weeknight dinner.

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Steam or boil green beans until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add green beans to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  6. Pour green bean mixture into a baking dish.
  7. Top with French fried onions.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until onions are golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese. You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
