Garlic Olive Oil Dip

A flavorful and aromatic garlic olive oil dip perfect for bread dipping or drizzling over salads, combining rich olive oil with fresh garlic and herbs.

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil and finely minced garlic.
  2. Add lemon juice, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes if using, then stir to combine.
  3. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  4. Let the mixture sit at room temperature for at least 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Stir in chopped fresh parsley just before serving, if desired.
  6. Serve with fresh crusty bread, vegetables, or as a drizzle over salads.

Notes

For a smoother dip, gently warm the olive oil and garlic on low heat for a few minutes before mixing the other ingredients. This also mellows the garlic flavor.
