Delicious Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

This Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta is a quick and easy weeknight meal that’s bursting with flavor. Tender shrimp are tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce and served over your favorite pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound pasta (linguine, spaghetti, or fettuccine)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
  4. If using, deglaze the pan with white wine and let it reduce slightly, about 1 minute.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with 1/2 cup of the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine. Add more pasta water if needed to create a sauce.
  6. Stir in parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon juice to the sauce before serving. Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
