Garlic Aioli Sauce

A creamy and flavorful garlic aioli sauce that pairs perfectly with sandwiches, seafood, and roasted vegetables for an easy homemade dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, fresh
  • 3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, egg yolk, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously to emulsify the mixture into a thick, creamy sauce.
  3. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the aioli for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  5. Serve chilled as a dip or spread with your favorite dishes.

Notes

For a milder garlic flavor, roast the garlic cloves before mincing. This aioli can also be made with mayonnaise as a shortcut.
