Scale
  • 1 loaf (1 pound) day-old bread, cubed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

  4. Gradually add the chicken broth, tossing until the bread is moistened but not soggy. Stir in the parsley.
  5. Grease the inside of a 6-quart or larger slow cooker.
  6. Transfer the stuffing mixture to the slow cooker.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the stuffing is heated through and slightly browned on top.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, brown 1/2 pound of sausage and add it to the stuffing mixture before cooking.
