Delicious Creamy Garlic Shrimp

This Creamy Garlic Shrimp recipe is quick, easy, and bursting with flavor. Tender shrimp are bathed in a luscious garlic cream sauce, perfect for serving over pasta or rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  6. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  8. Stir in the fresh parsley.
  9. Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or crusty bread.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a squeeze of lemon juice to the sauce just before serving.
