Cranberry Salsa

This vibrant cranberry salsa is a festive and flavorful appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings. It combines the tartness of cranberries with the heat of jalapeño and the freshness of cilantro for a sweet and spicy treat.

  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse the cranberries until coarsely chopped. Be careful not to over-process.
  2. Transfer the chopped cranberries to a medium bowl.
  3. Add the red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro to the bowl.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, lime juice, brown sugar, and salt.
  5. Pour the dressing over the cranberry mixture and stir well to combine.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or grilled chicken/fish.

Notes

For a milder salsa, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño. You can also add a pinch of cumin for a smoky flavor.
