  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese, butter, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  7. Dollop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top, gently pressing it into the dough.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cookies.

For an extra indulgent touch, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top before baking for added crunch and flavor.
