Chicken Kofta Meatballs

Chicken Kofta Meatballs are flavorful, spiced ground chicken balls perfect for a quick dinner or appetizer, inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add breadcrumbs and egg to the mixture and mix well until fully combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the meatballs in batches, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or over rice or flatbread.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve with a side of tzatziki or a fresh cucumber yogurt sauce. You can also bake the meatballs at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes as a healthier alternative to frying.
