  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the rolled oats and Rice Krispies cereal until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the dough. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
