These chewy protein bagels are a delicious and satisfying way to start your day or fuel your workout. Packed with protein and flavor, they’re surprisingly easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (240g) plain Greek yogurt, non-fat
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Everything bagel seasoning, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, protein powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. It will be sticky.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions.
  6. Roll each portion into a rope about 8 inches long, then shape into a bagel. Pinch the ends together to seal.
  7. Place the bagels on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush each bagel with the beaten egg and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a sweeter bagel, add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to the dough. You can also substitute different flavors of protein powder to customize the flavor.
