Cheddar Jalapeño Burgers

These Cheddar Jalapeño Burgers combine juicy beef patties with spicy jalapeños and melted cheddar cheese for a flavorful and satisfying meal perfect for any burger lover.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Optional: mayonnaise or your favorite burger sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, jalapeños, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently to combine.
  3. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  4. Place patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4 minutes per side.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt the cheese.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or skillet.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce and tomato on the bottom bun, then the cheesy jalapeño burger patty, and top with the other half of the bun. Add mayonnaise or sauce if desired.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds in or add sliced pickled jalapeños as a topping.
