Cajun Cream Sauce

A rich and flavorful Cajun Cream Sauce that combines spicy Cajun seasonings with smooth cream, perfect for elevating seafood, chicken, or pasta dishes.

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika, stirring to coat the onions and garlic.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Lower the heat and slowly add heavy cream, stirring continuously.
  7. Allow the sauce to simmer gently until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley if using.
  10. Serve immediately over your favorite protein or pasta.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce. This sauce pairs wonderfully with grilled shrimp or blackened chicken.
