These flavorful breakfast sausages are a perfect savory start to your day, made with a blend of herbs and spices for a homemade touch.

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar.
  2. Mix thoroughly until all spices are evenly distributed.
  3. Form the mixture into small sausage patties, about 2 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side or until browned and cooked through.
  6. Remove from skillet and serve warm with your favorite breakfast sides.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of fennel seeds or serve alongside scrambled eggs and toast.
