Homemade Banana Jam on Toast

Transform ripe bananas into a sweet and flavorful Banana Jam! This easy recipe is perfect for spreading on toast, biscuits, or using as a delicious filling for pastries.

  • 4 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and continue to cook, stirring frequently, for about 20-30 minutes, or until the jam has thickened to your desired consistency. It will thicken more as it cools.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  5. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
