  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • For the Cinnamon Whipped Cream:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pie Crust: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough just comes together. Form the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Make the Apple Butter Filling: In a medium bowl, whisk together the apple butter, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the eggs and whisk until smooth.
  4. Assemble and Bake the Pie: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pie crust to a 12-inch circle. Transfer the crust to a 9-inch pie plate. Trim and crimp the edges.
  5. Pour the apple butter filling into the prepared pie crust. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Prepare the Cinnamon Whipped Cream: In a chilled bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  7. Serve: Slice the pie and top with a generous dollop of cinnamon whipped cream. Enjoy!
